today’s fable
the pollen lurks in the tree
waiting to attack

–You were warned about the big bad wolf and the wicked witch of the West, but surely nothing can be scary about a low-hanging tree with fragrant white flowers. That’s what I thought, until I couldn’t breathe on my walk yesterday and I sit here today with sore throat and asthmatic lungs. Just like the shiny red apple was a trap in those fairy tales, so the gorgeous flowers hide an enemy.
