14 July 2015 — #haiku

Today Carpe Diem Haiku Blog challenged us to write four haiku using a given prompt word in each line. Usually I don’t do these because that supplies so many of the haiku words already I find it somewhat restricting. I thought I would give it a try this time. I will bold the words that are supposed to be included so you can see what I was working with.

Heaven Sent
clouds of cologne
palm tree wilts

marble fountain
goddess of gamblers
desert oasis

jazz cafe
Duke Ellington music
lonely summer night

faded honeysuckle
ancient road to bankruptcy
over the hill

  1. restricting? Yes, but look at the ways in which you and all the other poets tell a similar story but manage to make them unique with just so few words. You made it look easy and I know for a fact it isn’t, so well done. 🙂

I love to hear what you have to say.
